I believe in challenging mediocrity and creating environments that nurture people.

So, I’ve spent more than 25 years honing my skills as a fine craftsman, carpenter, and expert contractor.

I renovate spaces so that they function well, look beautiful, and feel great for people. So that they last and are resilient.

And, I can help you do the same.

Specializing in Old Homes

Since 1998, Simon Ott has been bringing old homes back to life using the classic, time-honored techniques of a true craftsman. He spent over a decade on a Main Street project, restoring more than a dozen historic buildings & building fronts—and consulting on numerous others. His love of historic structures continues to inspire his work as a craftsman—and, most recently, as a consultant and coach, helping home owners and contractors navigate the troubleshooting old structures usually require. His eye for detail and desire to create meaningful engagement makes for unique spaces, precision-oriented cabinetry, trim, and millwork, and small, one of a kind, portable wood buildings.

“I can highly recommend Simon for any construction and preservation task that you may have at hand. His workmanship and craftsmanship are by far the best I have ever seen in my 40 years of historic home ownership. His attention to detail by far outweighs any carpenter I have ever seen. Once you complete a job with Simon you will be so please that you will begin looking for the next project to complete.”

“The world needs many more Simons! Wow. Simon rebuilt two of the exterior doors and thresholds on our 1930s home, replacing the original single-pane glass pieces with double-walled, insulated glass, and updated two interior doors to repair and upgrade them. This was a tricky project with high stakes for us — exterior doors are important and they have to go back on at the end of the work day! Simon’s communication was excellent, his work is amazing, and I smile every time I open, shut, or even glance at the doors. I’m now looking around my home for more projects we might be able to hire him for. When you hire Simon, you can trust that he will care for your project like it’s his own home. We are so lucky to have him near Oklahoma City. I’d give him 10 stars if I could!”

“Simon has completed numerous renovations on our 1927 home-- inside and outside, from roof to foundation and everything in between. He has tackled carpentry, painting, sheet rock, tile, repairing furniture, plaster, and stucco. Not only is he a talented craftsman for major projects, but he also has helped us with smaller jobs including installing a ceiling fan and garbage disposal. Simon is easy to work with, will make helpful suggestions, and knows where to source materials. We highly recommend him.”

A small window with the window slightly open, and a white-framed glass door with blue handles. There is a large ceramic flowerpot with pink, purple, and white flowers, and a small black watering can nearby.
